FAQs

Will solar actually save me money?

Yes. The typical payback period sits between 5-7 years. Larger systems and higher usage properties tend to come in at 5-6 years, smaller systems at 6-7. If your annual usage is under 2,500 kWh the returns are harder to optimise - we'll always be straight with you if that's the case rather than oversell it.

How do I future-proof my system?

We always recommend sizing the inverter and battery with headroom for where your life is going, not just where it is today. An EV, a heat pump, more people in the house - all of these increase your usage and improve your returns. A system that feels slightly oversized today can be exactly right in two or three years.

We'll talk through this on the call..

What equipment do you use?

We install LONGi solar panels - the world's largest panel manufacturer by volume - paired with SIGenergy inverters and SigenStor batteries. SigenStor batteries are rated to 10,000 cycles, around 50% more lifespan than most alternatives on the market. All equipment is MCS approved and we've standardised on it because we trust it, not because it's the cheapest option available.

What warranties do I get?

You're covered three ways. 30 years on the panels - both product and performance. 10 years on the inverter and batteries. And a 10-year Insurance-Backed Workmanship Warranty on the installation itself, meaning you're protected even if ForeUK ever ceased trading.

It's one of the strongest warranty packages in the residential market.

How long does the whole process take?

From deposit to installation is typically 8-10 weeks. The main variable is the DNO application - the grid connection approval required for larger systems - which takes 6-8 weeks. That runs in the background after your deposit so it doesn't hold anything up on your end. Installation itself is 2-3 days on site.

What's the process like with ForeUK?

It's straightforward and there's no pressure at any stage.

Discovery call - we take your details, understand your property and usage, and get a clear picture of what the system needs to do for you.

Proposal sent - we model the system on your actual roof and usage and send you a full proposal with returns figures within 24 hours. No generic quotes.

Video call - we walk through the proposal together, answer any questions, and make sure the numbers make sense for you before anything is agreed.

Site survey - if you're happy with the proposal, our project manager Brett comes out to confirm the design, cable routes, and equipment placement. No commitment required at this stage.

Deposit and DNO - once you're ready to proceed, a 5% deposit secures your slot and we submit the DNO application to get the grid connection process moving. This runs in the background and typically takes 6-8 weeks.

Installation - our in-house electricians complete the install in 2-3 days on site. From day one you're in a WhatsApp group with me, Brett, and the office so you always know what's happening and who to contact.

I've seen cheaper quotes elsewhere - can you price match?

We don't price match and we'll always be honest about why. The difference in solar quotes usually comes down to three things - the equipment being specified, who's doing the electrical work, and what happens if something goes wrong after installation.

We use equipment we trust and have standardised on for a reason. Our electricians are on our own payroll, not subcontracted on the day. And our 10-year Insurance-Backed Workmanship Warranty means you're covered regardless.

A cheaper quote can absolutely be the right choice - but it's worth understanding what's been value-engineered out of it before you decide. That's a conversation we're always happy to have on the call.
